Everything you need to know before booking your Yunnan adventure.
Most international visitors need a Chinese tourist visa (L visa). However, citizens of 54 countries can enjoy 144-hour visa-free transit through Kunming Airport. Several countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, France, Germany, and Italy have bilateral visa-free agreements with China. Check our Visa Guide section above for details, and we provide free invitation letters for confirmed bookings.
For domestic travelers, we accept WeChat Pay and Alipay. For international travelers, we accept PayPal, bank wire transfer, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) via Stripe. A 30% deposit secures your booking, with the balance due 7 days before departure.
Free cancellation up to 14 days before departure (full refund minus payment processing fees). 50% refund for cancellations 7-14 days before departure. No refund within 7 days of departure, but we offer free date changes subject to availability. Travel insurance is recommended for unexpected situations.
Yes! All our guides for international clients are fluent English speakers with professional tour guide licenses. We also have guides who speak French, German, Japanese, and Korean upon request. Our guides are locals who grew up in Yunnan and know the culture, history, and hidden gems intimately.
Absolutely. We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, and allergy-specific diets. Yunnan cuisine is incredibly diverse with many naturally vegetarian and vegan options. Simply inform us of your dietary needs when booking, and we will ensure every meal is safe and delicious.
Parts of Yunnan are at high altitude: Shangri-La (3,300m), Meili Snow Mountain (6,740m). We design itineraries with gradual altitude gain and always have oxygen supplies in vehicles. We recommend arriving in Kunming (1,900m) first to acclimatize. If you have heart or lung conditions, please consult your doctor before booking high-altitude routes.
Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) is the main gateway with direct flights from Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Tokyo, and major Chinese cities. We provide free airport pickup for all custom tour clients. For domestic connections, Lijiang, Dali, and Xishuangbanna also have regional airports.
All tour packages include: private vehicle with driver, English-speaking guide, accommodation (4-5 star hotels or boutique guesthouses), all meals as specified in itinerary, entrance tickets, and 24/7 emergency support. International flights, China visa fees, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included.
